Are you “sucker”?

· Do you trust the information given to you by others or from the internet to the point that you do not question whether or not it is right or even true?

· Are you the one who copies another’s answers for the points and doesn’t even think or care to make sure what you copied is actually correct? or are you an individual and have your own answers or opinions?

o Is it because you don’t care or have lost your desire to think for yourself?

o Is it the fault of your dependency on technology to think for you?

“…without an internet connection,” do YOU “flop”?

• That is, can you handle coming up with your own solution or very simply can you recall something without looking somewhere to find it?
• Have you stopped memorizing information because you rely on the internet accessibility too much?
• Do you draw a blank when asked to describe something, just “can’t find the word” for it or are limited to generic words?

Give your reasoning as to why “Writing scores…have declined every year since writing was first measured (on the S.A.T.) in 2006). What or who do you blame?

Survival of the Fittest!

When considering the coined phrase: "Survival of the Fittest" and its definition of:
"the process whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring"(dictionary.com).

Explain where this theory is evident in the play. You may want to refer to a character's actions and their intentions solely for survival.

Were the incidents from The Crucible an act of Survival of the Fittest"? (Be sure to refer to the definition above to stay focused)

Haters and Grudges

Proctor stated that “There are wheels within wheels and fires within fires…” in our lives. (revenge drama, grudges, haters that inspire hatred to the point of chaos)

Is this true? If you believe so, you may want to share an example or a personal experience that you may have had with such an issue.

Allegorical?

"Why did Miller write this play? Was his motivation for writing to simply examine a period in American history or, was it an allegory, a parallel story with his intent to express a larger meaning?

"Excommunicating" The Crucible

I have been considering omitting The Crucible from our unit about the "The Dark Side of Our Souls" unit, but am still convinced that it helps best reinforce many literary devices as well as reading/ interpretation skills.

Do you believe that this play should be deleted from my future classes' curricula? What about the play has inspired your decision?
